  Cuzco Monasterio Hotel
Cuzco is a magical city with ancient, curving streets and colonial architecture that takes visitors backwards through time. The Hotel Monasterio, a former monastery dating back to 1592, captures the essence of the city while offering guests five star luxury. Just two blocks away from Cuzco's main square, the Plaza de Armas, it is easy for guests to see the sights of the city and return to their Cuzco home to unwind.

Now a national historic landmark, the Baroque architecture is complemented by art work featuring some of the finest of Cuzco's artists of old.

Guests stay in one of 127 rooms originally designed for Jesuit monks, but now equipped with modern amenities such as multiple telephones and cable television. In addition, the hotel helps guests avoid altitude sickness, common at Cuzco's almost 13,000' above sea level location, by installing Oxygen Supplementation Systems into the rooms.

Wandering cobblestone streets are sure to make a traveler hungry, and the Monasterio offers two unique dining options. Illariy Restaurant offers fine dining with magnificent patio dining, where guests can enjoy traditional Peruvian fare as well as international cuisine. El Tupay is a more casual dining option, offering a sumptuous breakfast buffet, allowing guests to dine quite differently than the monks who previously resided here. The lobby boasts a bar perfect for a nightcap.

After a day of wandering the magnificent Machu Picchu, only three hours away by luxury train, guests can enjoy a massage or select one of them any unique bath butler packages offered. Continuing its legacy, the Hotel Monasterio remains a tranquil retreat.
